Bye Bye Pink....

I think it is well known by now that I am a keen lover of pink, but after being inspired by this book over on my makeover blog I seem to be wanting to paint everything in sight white. It has been hard painting over my beloved pink, and I shall always, always have a soft spot for her, but it had to be done.

In fact the paint brush has been out quite a bit. My little mirror unit with drawers that once upon a time look like this.

Are looking a lot better during their work in progress. Here's one of the little drawers having a wee rest after another coat. I can also happily say her broken foot is now all fixed too.

And the not to my taste gold mirror, well, I can't wait for her to dry so I can hang her somewhere pretty.

I have to say, I do find the preparation to painting quite tiresome and it really can take ageeeeees. I can't wait to get using some Annie Sloan paint and wax that has a great reputation. Perfect so it seems for us lazy painter's ;) If you have ever used it I would love to know what you thought.

As for my love of pink, there shall of course still be a hint of it around my home :)

  3. Lovely painting but I'm confused! Is this the mirror you started to write about on your other blog? Are the two blogs going to merge or will they be for different purposes!

    1. Hi, I wanted to dedicate a blog just to share my love of vintage makeovers and home interiors. New year, new blog :) Obviously things may overlap via the two blogs but is also easier to link them in a way so people can find one of them easily if they want a nose. ( Plus I don't really know how to unlink them ;) Keeping an online diary of my makeovers is great for the motivation. Yes, was a gold mirror I painted light cream

  6. Hi its so funny reading going from pink to white as in my last house it was kidston, rosali & pink, tea cups, saucers, cake stands etc etc!. I woke up one day and decided i wanted no more pink, no more flowers, no more . I sold it all. Turned evrything white & minimal introduced calicos hessians . Itis very calming. I spend less time tidying which is a good thing!. Look forward to seeing more transitions from you!
